NCAdvocacy is a discussion group of mental health clients, caregivers and advocates (certainly realizing these categories are not mutually exclusive) from across the state, as well as individuals with developmental and other disabilities, established to exchange ideas, information and strategies on mental health and disability issues, including funding and legislation. I cannot encourage you enough to join and participate.
By far the easiest way to join the NCAdvocacy discussion group on Yahoo is simply to email me at david@ncmentalhope.org with a request to add your name. You will receive confirmation that your name has been added and the email address with which to post messages to the group. Messages from the group will automatically be routed to your present email address.
You may choose to receive individual emails, a daily email digest of all emails, or to read emails from the web.
If you decide to sign yourself up, click http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ncadvocacy/, click join group and fill out the profile information. Make sure the "Create my free Yahoo! email account" is NOT checked, unless you want to receive your messages at a Yahoo email account. It is checked by default and while this can be changed later, it's less complicated this way.
